Brewer - Job Description

The Brewer reports to the Production Manager.

Job Overview: 

This position provides support to the Production Manager and performs daily brewhouse tasks while maintaining company policies and ensuring that products meet Levante’s high-quality standards. 

Responsibilities and Duties: (including but not limited to)

• Execute all brewing tasks, including managing multiple brews simultaneously
• Execute all cellaring tasks, including plate and frame filtration
• Assist in monitoring daily fermentation samples and documentation
• Harvest & pitch yeast as needed
• Assist with packaging processes when needed, including washing kegs, pack out, etc.
• Ensure the use of standard operating procedures and established safety systems
• Maintain cleanliness of all areas in the facility by executing daily/weekly cleaning tasks
• Identify and communicate problems with equipment malfunctions or breakdown in processes
• Represent Levante at events as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Able to work rotating shifts, to include days, nights, and weekends
• Working knowledge of brewing & fermentation processes
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Forklift certification (training available if needed)
• Basic understanding of brewery systems such as steam, glycol, gas flow, etc.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, crouch/bend, perform repetitive motions
• Ability to work at heights, climbing stairs or ladders up to 12 feet
• Ability to frequently lift up to 55 pounds and be able to move up to 165 pounds
• Capable of working in various conditions, such as hot, cold, dusty, wet, etc.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and multi-task

Additional Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Arrive at each shift on time with a positive attitude
• 1+ year of brewing experience required
